It will be a festive atmosphere in the Dennery village when carnival activities climax with the parade of bands on Saturday and a final jump up on Sunday.
A show will be held on Friday night to usher in the weekend of excitement. Revelers are also keenly awaiting the J’ Ouvert planned for the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Chairperson of the Dennery Carnival Committee Perpetua James says four costume bands will participate in the parade. Revelers will parade around the village circuit under the supervision of the Police.
“We parade tomorrow…we judge on Saturday and the next day which is Sunday the 8th of July we have our final jump up, we give our results and then we climax with the Carnival Party… and we end for the weekend and the Carnival season this year. This will climax all of the other events we had to include our Carnival Queen Show, our big launching and all the other small activities hosted by the individual bands,” she said.
