New Ambassador Presents Credentials

The newly appointed Taiwanese Ambassador to Saint Lucia, His Excellency James Chang, presented his credentials to the Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy on Thursday.

During his presentation, Ambassador Chang said he is eager to work with the government and do his best to further strengthen ties between Saint Lucia and Taiwan.

 

“Your Excellency I have the honor and privilege to present to Your Excellency the letters of credence by which His Excellency Mr. Ma Ying Jeou President of the Republic of China, has credited me as Ambassador Extraordinary of the Republic of China (Taiwan ) to Saint Lucia. In presenting my letters of credence, I have the honor to convey to her Majesty the Queen through Your Excellency, the warm greetings and the best wishes from His Excellency, the President Ma Ying Jeou for the good health and continued prosperity of Saint Lucia,’ he said.


Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy accepted the letters of credence from Ambassdor Chang noting that there has been a considerable deepening of cooperation between the two countries over the past five years.

 

“The assistance of your government in the development of key sector in Saint Lucia has been the hallmark of that relationship. Initiative between the areas of health, education, culture, agriculture and information and technologies has brought our two countries closer and closer together as we share our knowledge, technologies and our way of life. Our mutual interest has been enhanced by the opportunities that has been created for that sharing, that coming together of minds,” said Governor General , Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy
